Filming & Broadcast Notice

Arena Festival events are actively filmed, photographed, livestreamed, and broadcast. By entering the venue or competing in an event, you acknowledge that you may appear on camera and that your name, image, voice, and likeness may be captured and used as described below.
Where filming takes place
- All competition areas, courts, mats, and rings
- Main stage, podium, and award ceremonies
- Venue entrances, common areas, and sponsor activations
- Interview and press areas
What we capture
- Video and audio recordings
- Photographs
- Live audio commentary and interviews
- Names, participant IDs, and results shown on scoreboards and graphics
How footage is used
- Live broadcast and streaming (YouTube, Instagram, other partner platforms)
- On-demand replay and highlight reels
- Social media clips and behind-the-scenes content
- Sponsor and partner promotional material
- Future Arena Festival marketing, recruiting, and archival material
How to opt out
Participation in Arena Festival competitions requires consent to being filmed — participants who do not consent cannot compete. If you wish to attend without appearing on camera, spectator-only, non-filmed areas are available inside the venue. Ask any staff member on arrival and they will direct you.
Post-event takedown requests
If you appear in footage in an incidental way and would like us to review the footage or blur your face in a specific piece of content, contact us at supports@arenafestival.ca. Please note that we cannot recall content that has already been livestreamed, downloaded, or redistributed by third parties, and we generally cannot alter footage of a competing participant who signed the media release.
Minors
Participants under 18 may only appear in filmed content with parent or legal-guardian consent, which is captured during registration alongside the guardian's signature.
